99 Liposuction, injection needles and cannulas

Liposuction is a procedure performed by a plastic surgeon or in certain trained dermatologists. Operations typically last between 30 – 45 minutes depending on the amount/volume of fat that needs to be removed. Patients are either sedated intravenously or put under with general anesthesia depending on their doctor’s recommendation. Procedures may take longer if the fat is then re injected into another part of the body via transfer, an example would be a Brazilian Butt procedure. Fat removal operations are typically performed in the stomach, butt or legs. Surgeons also will remove fat from the face, neck, back or breasts for the treatment of Gynecomastia.

When a patient puts on weight, our bodies fat cells grow both in size and volume, leading to an undesired appearance. After your liposuction procedure the skin will heal and appear smooth, unless you have thin skin it may appear loose. You can expect some pain and likely brusing, this will be controlled with medication and antibiotics. On occasion a drain may be placed in the incision to remove any excess fluid. Wearing tight compression garments (usually supplied from your physician) will help keep the swelling under control. After a couple weeks any swelling will subside, and your body will have its new contours. If you maintain your weight post-surgery, the results will be very long lasting.

Preparation

In preparation your surgeon will mark your skin where he intends to operate, this will be circles and lines and pictures are often taken to compare before and after. It may take place in a surgery center, or even a hospital if you require additional anesthesia and post operation monitoring.

Your liposuction surgeon will make a small, and almost unnoticeable incision where he will place his instruments. If your procedure calls for local anesthesia a Micro injection needle will be placed to deliver the numbing medicine. This is done to alleviate bleeding and trauma. ACE Medical Company offers a wide range of options for the injection, The Micro Injection Needle comes in 4 unique patterns, styles 1,2, 3 and V are designed to accommodate a surgeons preference.
